Use the present simple to talk about facts, habits, and routines. Add -s or -es to the verb for he/she/it.
Use βaβ before consonant sounds, βanβ before vowel sounds, and βtheβ when both speaker and listener know exactly which thing you mean.
Subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) do the action. Object pronouns (me, you, him, her, it, us, them) receive the action. Possessive adjectives (my, her, their...) come before a noun; possessive pronouns (mine, hers, theirs...) stand alone. Reflexive pronouns (myself, herself...) show the action returns to the subject. Demonstrative pronouns (this, that, these, those) point to something specific.
To make a sentence negative, add "not" after the verb "to be," or use "don't"/"doesn't" before the main verb.
For yes/no questions with regular verbs, use "Do/Does" + subject + verb. For "to be," swap the subject and verb. Wh-questions add a question word (what, where, when, who, why, how) at the front.
