Good readers use different strategies to understand a text. Before reading, look at the title and any pictures to predict what the text is about. While reading, try to guess the meaning of new words from the sentences around them, instead of stopping at every unfamiliar word. After reading, ask yourself what the main idea was. These strategies make reading faster and easier.
